A Mid-Century Modern salesman's sample model of a Russian-made bentwood chair in birch, the continuous curved back and seat supported by two curved bentwood legs, retaining its original printed label on the bottom. The design of this chair is contemporary with the work of Charles and Ray Eames who pioneered the use of bentwood with the splints they made for injured soldiers during World War II. Afterwards, this technology was used for civilian purposes, including the manufacture of furniture.
