18th Century Georgian English Hunt Gate Leg Table

An 18th century Georgian English Country Chippendale gate leg hunt table, beautifully proportioned, in mahogany, with two semicircular leaves which may be both opened to form an oval dining table that comfortably seats eight, or with one leaf closed, the table may serve as a demilune serving or console table; or with both leaves down, the table sits comfortably against a wall or behind a sofa. The top and leaves are supported by a rectangular frieze, the ends of which have Chippendale serpentine carving, four stationary square section chamfered legs and four conforming gate legs which pivot into any position desired. With beautiful form and patina, this table is larger than most we have seen of this form and is especially well proportioned.
