An unusual and sculptural block fronted Dutch Colonial slant lid desk in Asian padouk wood with pierced metal drawer pulls and bird-decorated escutcheon, the exterior of the case with channeled carved top and sides, the fall front writing surface supported by pullout slides, the interior fitted with drawers and arcaded compartments, surmounting two short over three long serpentine carved block fronted drawers, the contours of which are highlighted with ebonized surface, on a projecting molded base supported by later bun feet and bracket feet in the back. 19th century and later components.
