SOLD--Neoclassical Parquetry Bench

0.00

A striking neoclassical parquetry bench, in oak with inlaid oak, walnut and fruitwood, with large, graphic Greek Key decoration on the back and front of seat. The seat top itself features a pattern of inlaid wood in different colors forming interlacing diamonds. The lid of the seat lifts off to provide storage inside. The back is made with tongue and groove bead board. Rich in color and pattern, newly restored and waxed, this bench is also very solid and comfortable, with a well angled back and arm rests. We believe that this beautiful and unusual bench was made in the 1880s from earlier parquetry floor boards.
