French Art Deco Lamp with Daum Art Glass Shade and Wrought Iron Base

4,650.00

A fine quality French Art Deco period table lamp, the wrought iron base of tapering square form with open, textured spiral design leading to a spreading quatrefoil shaped base, in the manner of French ironsmith Edgar Brandt, the beautiful thick mottled terra cotta colored art glass shade, made using the pate de verre technique, by Daum Nancy, with incised signature on the edge (the words Daum and Nancy with the Cross of Lorraine between them; Nancy is the city in France, also the capital of the Duchy of Lorraine where Daum glass is made). The shade fits perfectly on the wrought iron base. Because of the position of the signature, we have wondered if the shade was also made to be used as a hanging ceiling chandelier.

Height: 29"     Diameter: 17 1/2" (shade)      15" (base)
