ON HOLD-Pair of Edward Wormley Cock Fighting Chairs

5,600.00

A pair of Edward Wormley designed cock fighting chairs made by Dunbar, newly upholstered in a khaki colored heavy weight twill, with button tufted backs and mahogany legs with brass caps and casters. This form is after a George III library chair, frequently referred to as a cock fighting chair because one can sit in it comfortably facing either forward or backwards. Despite the name, these chairs were not used to watch cock fights, but rather as library chairs. They are comfortable, sculptural and both modern and antique looking.

Height: 30 5/8” Width: 30 1/8” Depth: 24” Seat Height: 18”
